“Clean Air – Green Hanoi Day” showcases IKI project engagement

In response to World Environment Day, the IKI project “Air Quality Management and Climate Change Mitigation” joined the “Clean Air – Green Hanoi Day”, which was co-organized on 1 June 2019 by Hanoi´s Department of Natural Resources and Environment (DONRE), Hoan Kiem District administration, and the NGO Live & Learn.

At the event, a GIZ booth showcased the project´s support for air quality management in Hanoi and entertained pedestrians with a series of activities, games, quizzes and gifts related to environmental protection. The project also had prepared souvenirs that were given away to remind people of the event in the coming year.

Despite it being a rainy day, around 600 people visited the GIZ booth and played educational games that raised awareness about air quality in Hanoi. Visitors came from every age group, from toddlers and children to elderly people, and had different levels of understanding about air pollution. Most people expressed their concerns about air pollution and were eager to discuss possible solutions. Also, foreign tourists showed an interest in the booth and talked to local people, sharing experiences from their home countries.

In addition to the “Clean Air – Green Hanoi Day”, an air quality awareness raising campaign of GIZ called “Go green – breathe clean” continues on GIZ facebook pages.
