THE INTERNATIONAL CLIMATE INITIATIVE [IKI]

VIETNAM NEWSLETTER

Issue 17 | May 2023

Dear readers,

Tomorrow the annual IKI Viet Nam workshop will take place in Hanoi and bring together representatives from 39 IKI projects, the Vietnamese partner ministries and representatives from BMWK and BMUV, including the head of the IKI Dr. Philipp Behrens. In preparation we share the next issue of the IKI Viet Nam newsletter and hope it will generate additional discussion matters and exchanges. Except one, all the IKI projects featured under the project news section will also join the workshop tomorrow.

And there are news from the Thematic Call 2023. The first phase of the selection process has been concluded, 14 outlines were selected to pass to the proposal phase out of 196 submissions. Two of the outlines include Viet Nam as one of the implementation countries:  SWITCH: Southeast Asia’s Natural Gas Transition to Net-Zero (consortium led by GIZ) and Implementation Model for Acceleration of an Inclusive, Just Energy Transition (JET) in Indonesia and Vietnam and Further to the ASEAN region (consortium led by Global Green Growth Institute).

We hope you enjoy reading this issue.
